Landing gear up action...
« on: 22 May 2003, 19:35:20 »
Hi, I've been searching to see if anyone knows how to put the landing gear up as an action.  Doesnt seem so - its not in the comref nor the thread on actions.
Situation is that at the end of the mission an A10LGB comes in and airstrikes a town, camera follows, etc- got all that working, but since I setpos the a10 into the air from being on the ground, the landing gear is down.  (and the engine is off but the ai starts it so quick it just sounds like he's increasing throttle to dive)

The A10 flies over where I want it to perfectly, but the landing gear is down when the cutscene starts and you can see it.   I want to either get an action that puts the gear up before the cutscene starts, or a way to have the plane fly around before the cutscene, but then be stopped with the engine off and the gear UP  (At the start of the cutscene, the plane dives and barrel rolls to start the engine and it looks cool so I want to keep that, which is why I don't just start the cutscene later.)

Thanks!  It kinda works.... I mean, the AI wont put down the gear :(  but if I set myself pilot the gear goes down by itself...
I'll look for forcing actions on AI

This has been a debated in the past... I think the results were that it couldn't be done on the AI. They fly the plane and associate landing gear to the actual landing operation.
