plane landing?
« on: 02 May 2003, 19:12:08 »
hey i have an airfield mission, and i want planes to land and take off periodically... how would i make one or 2 planes land, taxi round, stop, and take off again, then loop a circuit... i think to get them to stop i can just take away then replace the fuel, but how do i get them to land, taxi, take off? thanks, nick

Use waypoints (including cycle) and the command land.    Remember to use a working airfield and that planes like to takeoff south to north.

without too much coding, ya can make one plane land & unassign the pilot, then let him move towards a mess hall or alike, while a NEW pilot (and p'haps a passenger) get in the plane & take off  :)

and vice verca

Macguba    can u pls  script an example using the command land...

It does not work on choppers on a regular basis. Instead u have to addaction in order for it to work

addaction is only useful for a player unit, not an AI one.

For the land command, just place a move waypoint over the airfield and write

plane1 land "land"

in the waypoint ... should work I think as long as your aircraft is called plane1.   Check the syntax.     (Or put it in a trigger somewhere ... I have a feeling if you give a plane that command it just goes to the airfield and lands .. can't quite remember, just experiment a bit.)
