Author Topic: REMOVE ACTION, whats up question to tuff for you guys ?  (Read 863 times)

Question:

I need to remove the action to light & put out fires in a multiplayer mission Im working on, the fires are lit by triggers so I want to stop any players in game tampering with the fires before the triggers set them off, can you help me ?
 
I have tried things like "this removeaction lightfire" and asking around forums but have hit a dead-end, please please can you offer any suggestions.

It's not great, but as a workaround you could run looping scripts to keep the fires in the correct state.   So if somebody lights one at the wrong time, it just goes out again.
Plenty of reviewed ArmA missions for you to play

I am not sure if you can remove the games default actions..
you can remove an action you gave him with
soldier removeaction 1

But you could allways have made a new fire which started burning with a command, but you couldnt turn it off.... (like those streetlamps if i am not wrong)

You would probably have to use an addon fire that does allow it to lit/put out by units.

Jeeze! What do you think - we are your personal mission editing consultants, ready to solve the most useless of your mission editing problems on a whim?

Try a script that runs in a loop like so:

fire1 inflame true
fire2 inflame true
fire3 inflame true
fire4 inflame true
fire5 inflame true
fire6 inflame true
~0.01


...or make an addon fire that isn't based on the original fire in any way, and use the drop command to render the fire.
