What seems to be the problem? Your best bet is to use a free program such as MicroDEM to subset you data and resample to a 50m x 50m grid to fit the standard OFP map size. Convert to MicroDEM type to a dem readable by Wilbur and finally export as a lat/long text file. From there you have to import your z values column into Wrpedit. I keep meaning to get around to cleaning up my old tutorial on this but it seems I never have enough time...

Each terrain cell is 50m X 50m.

There are 256 X 256 terrain cells, making a total of 65,536 terrain cells.

giving a total map area of 12.8 km X 12.8 km.

Most usable DEMs are in 30m resolution and need to be resampled to 50m resolution for OFP.

ok, i got a 30m one and resampled it to 50m...

still doesn't work in ofp (yes i did all the steps in your tut...)  i am forgetting something that needs to be resampled....right??  it says it's importing data in wrpedit but it doesn't respond, and i've waited for 5+ mins and tried it multiple times...please help, thanx

Which tutorial?

The DEM-WrpEdit Tutorial?

If so then it assumes you have a properly prepared DEM first.

Possibly you are using the whole DEM, resampled to 50m.
You actually need to cut an area 12.8 km X 12.8 km from the resampled DEM, for use in WrpEdit.

In the absence of a tutorial showing you how to do this, if you send it to me, I will cut the required area for you.

Please send a picture of the DEM also, clearly marked with the approximate area on your DEM that you require.

Planck & all,

The web-archive sems to work intermittently. I'll try and upload what i have of my old webpages tomorrow on the net. Anyone is welcome to copy and paste info from it and come up with a better tutorial that is more easily understandable.
