Operation Frenchpoint !

Hi all !

Yesterday arround 23:55 in west europe time, OFrP (Operation FrenchPoint) released their first addons of their MOD.  

The following items were uploaded :

French Patrol Officer + Soldier (FAMAS)
French Officer (FAMAS)
French Soldier (FAMAS)
French MG (Minimi)
French Eryx (Eryx : sort of CarlGustav)
French Medic (FAMAS)

All those models are new and worth the download
The FAMAS, Eryx and Minimi were also modeled and are completely new and very realistic.  

+ a Bonus MP mission "Sarin War" around a anti-chemical mission based on the OIL WAR MP mission from BIS.

That's all looking pretty good guys, does the website come in english? can't read french unfortunatly. I really like the Minimi and the camo sceme very nice work. Just a couple of little things that your beta testers probably picked up. The inside colar seems to be untextured and the Minimi has a square foregrip where is should be shaped like it is depicted in the texture   looking great though and is that your tank? the textures on that thing are awesome I love the sprayed mud effect.

Great units, but one problem (sorry to mention this guys). There's one small issue. A white line appears (when it shouldn't) underneath the torso of each soldier. When I looked better, it appeared that the bottom of the torse (you know, the place between the legs and and torso) didn't have any textures. Is this a voodoo bug?  

But anyway, although I'm not French, it looks great.   ;D :thumbsup: :thumbsup:

Hi,

For the english translation of the site, it was implmented today.

For the bugs, don't hesitate to mention them on their forum (even in english, they won't shout at you).

Several bugs were already mentionned like :

the "Patrol" soldiers and officers (those with the berets) all have the same face
a LOD bug at around 20 m distance

Those bugs are nearly corrected, and an updated version will be uploaded soon, with a second addon pack with either Air or Armored units (depending of the advance of each "project").

For the legionnaires, another french MOD is actuallt dealing with that, here is the address :

The tank is made by OFrP too.

This is an AMX Leclerc MBT, a tank very similar to M1A2 in its performances in term of speed, firepower, ability to fire with turret in any position while going full speed, and resistance to impacts.

The OFrP was also very proud of the mud effect

I also want to mention that several RW french military personnel worked on those addons : Leclerc drivers, Gazelle pilot, soldiers.... so the weapons react like in RW as much as possible

Well, since nobody answered my question in the other forum i'll ask here...
what's the size of a standard french rifle squad? How many minimi's/eryx's/medics does it contain?   I search for it on the net with no luck. (And please don't refer me to a french site, my french sucks)  ;D

In fact, French Army never deploy more thant 2-3 men without a VAB (a 4x4 wheeled armored transport).

well, as an American, it is my patriotic duty to hate France and all things French... ;D
But I downloaded 'em anyway. And they are my second-favorite units behind BAS woodland deltas+rangers.

very nice, central euro pattern is one of my favorites. I have several suggestions for a future version though. First, get some better sounds, particularily for the MINIMI. It sounds so...gamey. Also, perhaps a few more polys could be expended on improving the helmet? There is that slight LOD issue that has already been mentioned, and it affected my GeForce 4200 too. Finally, please don't relase the second version of the pack without the VAB and some pistols for officers/drivers (?) and an action menu choice to lower goggles.

Your french troops look very good, model wise, but where are there white flags and standard issue brown underpants?

Have any units been armed with cheese, wine and fireworks, or is this only when allowing germany to prance through towards england?
