Anyone using Wings3D? I'd like to, but ...

... every 3DS file I save with Wings3d fails to import into O2Light. I hope someone has already done this and knows what I must do to use my Wings3d models?

go here:

www.anim8or.com

and get the program...

go to   import/object
and bring your .3ds file into anim8or

now..  under the options/debug menu you'll see a place that says... dummy 3ds
Kdata  check that off..... then  export/object back to the 3ds file... ( I just write over the original...)

then you can import into O2

Thanks so much! I will try this immediately. I am so grateful for your quick answer, since I have a few days off from work and can spend my time now learning to make addons for OFP.

I tried it; it works quite well. I was well pleased to see that models imported this way received automatic .pac textures for any part that I applied a Material to in Wings3D. Just plain colours, but it helps me see the different parts if I give them different colours. It's neat that O2Light grabs the Materials from the .3DS and converts to .pac. Cool!

Now if only I can figure out why image maps don't appear in O2Light's editing windows ....
