I've tried every method I could find on this and other sites. I want an AI tank to target and destroy a building(s). I've tried the following and none have worked:
-placing a gamelogic on bldg and targeting that
-Making a building "west" so east will shoot it
-Using 'destroy' waypoints
-using 'dotarget' and 'dofire' on object id
-placing a new building and trying all the above
-placing an enemy unit inside bldg with 'knows about'. Wont shoot unless the unit is visible in a window
I've searched this and other forums MANY times and none of the ideas worked (may have forgotten to list one or so above). The way I have it now, I park a car etc in front of a bldg and change it to "west" when I want the tank (east) to fire. It shoots the car (hopefully with the turret), and the building (already set to .9 dammage) is destroyed as well. But that's kinda lame.
I'm not a 'new guy' around here
though I think this is only my first post on this board as I have always been able to search for my answers. Been editing over the past year or so too. So I thank you all for helping 'inadvertently'. I'm 7 missions into my campaign
So has anyone actually got this to work? This is my main question, however...if I may ask another...
I'd also like to be able to place a lamppost and 'light' it without the light being in the middle of the pole, instead of up at the top where the light should be. ALSO the light doesn't seem to actually illuminate anything around it.
As I said, I've tried EVERYTHING (except apparently the correct method) for both problems, so I'm finally asking.
I appreciate any help with this. Thanks for all your help, past and future!
