...has anyone made an aircraft carrier yet and if not how feasable is it?  or indeed why have they not.

No ones made a carrier yet, though several mods are trying.  Its certainly feasable to make the model and stuff, but to make it so planes could really take off and land on it is most likely going to be impossible w/o scripts.
