Tac31, when you crash on my mission, do you by any chance leave your group and charge straight up the hill, and have it lock up in the dead space just below one of the dshks?

By the way, when it crashes, the audio crashes too.  The weird sound you're hearing is the audio equivalent of the screen freezing.

I have Win  XP Pro/1.44 TBird/Radeon 64 DDR/SB Audigy and get lockups.  When building my mission, I couldn't test it allt he way through because of crashes.  Now I hardly get them. (=I finish the mission several times over).

And when it crashes, hit ctrl-alt-delete, then Alt-E, then Alt-E again (and maybe a few more times just for good measure).   In a few minutes, the desktop will come up.

Or that's what should happen.

No crashes for me......can't really remember my system specs but still.

What i was wondering was about lights.  On the LSSC for example, would it be possible to have the light on the M60 so when you moved around the light shined with you, be more realistic me thinks. Is it possible?

Vyper

well m8 i gotta tell ya, haveing big spot lights hanging off a guns is not realistic.every1 can c u and there for shoot you.It ruins the game as well when your trying to make a 50cal ambush some1 or a mortar and you cant do it because they can be seen a k away because of a light.the same as light in bases.Thats in game

In real life, lights also cause you to go night blind.when the light hits your eyes you cant c in the dark.if your looking down the light when you look back into the darkness you wont be able to c.i could keep going but wont.in combat you dont want the ENEMY to know where you are until your shooting at then.

DEVIL'S GUARD
thats realistic

Dinger, I try to stay with the group and follow the leader but i'm not sure its below the dshk cause I have never gotten that far. I have a GIGABYTE GA-7VRX with 1040 MB Ram, XP2100 CPU, GF4, and have tried it with a Audigy sound Card and a turtle beach all with updated drivers.  I am also running with XP Pro.  What kind of in game settings do you people with no crashes use, maybe my computer doesn't like the ones I'm using, but it shouldn't be a problem.  I'm also using atuner to tweak my card but I'm not o/c anything.  BTW I do appriciate all the help people give on this forum.

Yes, this is really the only civil forum, and really the only fourm I'm civil on ;)

Fixed the comp after a couple of hours, played a bit more with Dinger's map with no problems after I dropped the settings back down... scared to try Plei mei again, lol, but I'll try it again and see.
If you're in a war, instead of throwing a hand grenade at the enemy, throw one of those small pumpkins. Maybe it'll make everyone think how stupid war is, and while they are thinking, you can throw a real grenade at them.

Some work for something I hope to finish over the holidays along with updated trees on Ia Drang.

Also I keep forgetting. I've been running a highly modified version of the sebobject.pbo with all new hi-res plants. It is more intensive than the normal one, but until last night I ran it with little problems other than the lower FR's. It's just a testbed for now, and hopefully it will lead to an updated Ia Drang, then a more FR friendly river infested delta style map based on the Rung Sat Special Zone, only about 1/2 size though. Hopefully.

ebud, I still have that Delta map.  Now that final exams are almost done (Friday the 20th thank Christ) I'll hammer out the last of the problems and e-mail it to you for perusal.  Also I'll get back to work on my Arty script.  I got way too invloved on those projects during the semester.  Hopefully I didn't kill all my grades.

I have crashes and I am using a GeForce2 mx, but not for long... ti 4600 coming soon.

I would like to say that years ago when I got the original GeForce 256 with 32 megs of ddr there was a goofy ass crash causing error with Need For Speed: PU. It had to do with the lens flare effect. If you turned it off it never crashed. Crashes are wierd like that. I must say I updated to the latest official drivers from Nvidia and I haven't had a crash afterwards, but that won't last... I just know it  ::)

BTW, the reason I went from GeForce 256 to GeForce2 mx is because my dad blew up the 256 whilst installing a new hard drive. ZZAAAAPPPP!!!!

Be carefull kids, ground yourselves.

whiplash2000a I advise you not to buy Ti-4600 but the Ti-4400  :)
Ti-4400 is faster than Ti-4600 m8 ;)
Sorry for being of topic  ::)

First. I think I know what is causing the crashes. It's EAX. Most of the people who have the crashes have EAX compatible sound card. I have AC'97 and no crashes. Another thing. Could you please add to you pack standart BIS jeeps and trucks with army\marine etc drivers ?
And about GF's. I don't think it's them causing the crashes. I have GF Ti4200 128 VIVO and no crashes.
