I have tested the nam on my old PC with 1.85 no chrashes with and without mortar NO CRASH.
And I tested it with my new PC in 1.90 same result no crashes at all.
I have sometimes a crash but that is normal when I play the game 50 times from the 50 1 or 2 crash and that is normal
Are the guys with crashes use Direct-X 8.1 or Via 4 in 1 drivers?
Have you guys got enough space in your harddisk?
Are you running other programs than OFP?

My new PC Windows XP pro 2800+xp AMD processor 1024DDR Ram 350GB 7200rpm my videocard Geforce Ti-4600 128MB and all the latets updates(Latest drivers for my videocard, Via 4in1 and Direct-X 8.1) I have no crash 1 or 2 times from the 50 times I play maybe a crash ;)
Try to turn some programs off when your pc has started press Ctrl-Alt-Delete and turn some programs off see if it helps good luck or you can try Direct-X 9.0Beta maybe it will help good luck :-\

I think you have it the other way around, hundreds of people have DL'd the files, yet only a very vocal few have had really major problems. If we tallied the list of folks who have voiced their concerns over the pack causing major crashes, the list wouldn't be as large as you think.
If you're in a war, instead of throwing a hand grenade at the enemy, throw one of those small pumpkins. Maybe it'll make everyone think how stupid war is, and while they are thinking, you can throw a real grenade at them.

I have to agree with you on that point eBud, problem is that people are to busy playing this great addition to Flashpoint rather than hanging around here and say have great it is.  :D

I am sorry that I am one of those with a problem, because this Nampack is by far superior to the Flashpoint game itself. (I am aware that without Flashpoint there woudn't be a Nampack, but still   ;D  )

I would venture a guess that it is memory related, for those that do have crashes. I do, only when I overload my puter with too may units. That and Ia Drang is very computer intensive.

Possible causes/solutions for people to look at

1. Get more memory
2. Use a fixed swap file od at least 500mb
3. People with lots of programs running in background
4. Older video cards get stressed out by resistance
5. If you have VIA 4 in 1 drivers, the latest may NOT be the answer. I had the latest and was having crashes, in OFP and IL2. I checked my MOBO site, and found that they recommended the Next to the latest set of 4 in 1 drivers, installed them, and my crashes are pretty much gone.
6. Too may addons in folder(s)
7. Defrag OFTEN
8. The dreaded SBLive makes anything screwy syndrome

Some of these are semi-educated guesses. Others are from experience. How old is your mobo's Bios?

My Specs

Athlon 1.2 ghz
Generic mobo, latest bios
GF4 ti4200 VisionTek, NOT the latest drivers. about 10 back
SBLive Vlaue, Ughhh It sucks
7200 rpm ATA 100 40 GB HD
256mb Pc133 SDRAM (I need more)
Win 98SE, the reason I only have 256mb RAM, it doesn't like more I hear

I hope this helps someone.

- Nixer6

I could agree with on this, but nah, not with my system. Let me tell what I got.

Hardware:

Abit IT7 MAX (latest BIOS)
Intel P4 2.4Ghz with Swiftech 478 cooler
ATI Radeon 9700 pro (running DX9 with drivers, have also tried DX8.1 and latest cataclyst 2.4 for DX8.1)
OnBoard AC97 sound with latest drivers from ABIT
512MB DDR PC2100
2x40GB Maxtor ata133 disk's (running NTFS and no RAID)

Software:
Windows XP pro, SP1 integrated
Operation Flashpoint - Cold War Crisis
Operation Flashpoint - Resistance
Patched to 1.90

I have "installed" the Nampack into here:
E:\OperationFlashpoint\Vietnam\Addons

I start the game with this command:
E:\OperationFlashpoint\FLASHPOINTRESISTANCE.EXE -nosplash -mod=Vietnam

Now, apart from 3dMark 2001 SE thats about it.

I am using the latest drivers for all devices.

I did a total reformat and reinstall, but still crashes frequently.
(Not totaly true, been a while now ;D)

Anyways, I am open to all suggestens, but I refuse to upgrade my computer at this point ;D

I'm there with ya, dude. I have a gig of ram and a pretty fast computer and I don't run programs in the background while I'm playing games. I've never had ofp lock up on me before. If I ever had too many units on the map it would just slow down my frame rate. I set up a game with only 16 units (not vehicles) and it crashed on me during combat. It is clear that whatever triggers the crashes is happening with one of the units in the nam pack.

I had experienced several game crashes when using the pack. I started messing around with the preferences... After I set my cockpit, objects, and landscape textures to 512x512, I haven't had a crash yet (knock on wood). You might want to see if that helps. :)

My system specs:
XP 1700 & 1570MHz
512MB PC2100 DDR
Aopen Aeolus GF4 Ti4200S 128MB (300/550)
ECS K7S5A
Turtle Beach Santa Cruz

For all GeForce users, you might want to check out the new 41.09 drivers. They seem to work VERY well with OFP. You can d/l them directly from Nvidia.com.

Big thanks to the SEB team for releasing such a fantastic addon pack! I'd been looking forward to the pack since the first one came out. I knew it would be good, but not this good! I feel like I should have had to pay for it. Really top notch work!

I wanted to report one tiny little bug that I hadn't seen anyone else mention. When using the OH-6 right gunner bird, I've noticed that sometimes when viewed from afar, the gunners legs will morph to the left side. Not sure if the whole setup is reversed, with the gunner appearing on the left, or if just his legs appear on the other side. I've only seen it from below. :D

Yes, I too also have to agree with Nixer6 on his certain conclusions.

I too have had crashes only when Ia Drang (other OFP maps to) was loaded with too many units or vehicles that my computer's Ram couldn't handle along, with my video card which is a Geforce 2 GTS 32mb.

My other conclusion is that since OFP: Resistance, as Nixer6 mentioned, is very demanding on your computer with certain maps, with the terrain, also due to the large maps that OFP has, loaded along with units, vehicles, unofficial addons all loaded on, "suck" up a lot of your RAM. Along with the graphics on some addons are very nicely textured, which also once again put stress on your video card and RAM. Therefore the more units, vehicles, and what not loaded on a map or while map editing, people with the "weaker" hardware accessory, such as 128mb, 256mb, and even 512mb Ram, is not enough for games nowadays demanding and relying on a lot of the computer's hardware accessories. Also not to mention computer owners with 32mb, 64mb, and 128mb video cards will crash too, but most likely a certain group will experience more difficulties than the other, such as the game crashing.

There are couple of options, more RAM 1GB and 2GB option, better video cards, which currently are ATI Radeon 9700 128mb and Geforce 4600 Ti 128mb, will most likely help the performance. Also processors play big roles in certain scenarios where maps are heavily loaded, slow processors will not be able to process the information fast enough for better performance during game play, but on the other hand faster processors such a 2.4Ghz or now 3Ghz processors shouldn't "struggle".

My belief is that the shortage in Ram and Video Card Ram, because of the too many operations that are going during game play and in your background (consider the shutting down of couple of programs in the 'End Task' menu, not the important ones though), ones computer cannot handle, thus causing it to crash or other malfunctions, but remember this is all a theory, not a fact.
