Help with parachuting/altitude

Hey all, been awhile.

Ok how do I set the altitude of my parachuter? Also how do I make other units besides the parachuter be able to parachute at the beginning of them ap and not exit a vehicle?

 Hmm....  I'm not sure exactly what you're after here from your post.. but my suggestions are....

I'd use setpos to get that chute up in the air (an empty one from the editor..that you've named) .. and use
moveindriver to make the moron climb on in
 I'd suggest somewhere in the neighborhood of 60-70 meters??

Guess that depends on conditions.. such as wind and terrain

 this method should work for yer AI dudes as well.. as the player ;)

Euhm...well, yes, if the good old "Flying" isn't good enough, you can increase altitude with the setpos command, as so:

unit setpos[(getpos unit select 0), (getpos unit select 1), #]

unit= name of unit
#= height in meters above ground

And as to making other parachute, the "easiest" way would be to create a bunch of empty parachutes, set to "flying", name, and then move in soldiers with the moveInDriver command (s1 moveInDriver parachute1). The other way would be to "misuse" a HALO drop script by making the chute opening height and the starting height the same...eliminates the need for individual parachutes for each and every soldier, at least.
