Decompressing missions
« on: 19 Nov 2002, 12:58:01 »
Hey, I need a quick question answered. I've found my one & only succesfully completed mission in PBO form. I want to decompress it & change stuff (notably put it on some of the funky new islands) but it crashes when loading.

As far as my memory serves me, the proceedure for decompressing a PBO is to rename it mission.sqm, run unpacksqm on it, rename the txt file back to the original pbo name then run DePBO on it.

This produces garbled ascii crap in each file which is what the error complains about.

I can't make sense of this stuff so I can't even edit out the useless bits and my knowledge is WAY too low to recreate the files again.

Have I managed to miss a step or could I be mixing up 2 proceedures? The mission PLAYS fine when used in the missions folder so I doubt it's the PBO...

Thanks in advance for any help.

PS: I remember having seen the Flashpoint1985 campaign in uncompressed form bit I can't find it again, does anyone have a download source?

Thanks x2

Just use the PBO decryptor by Amalfi on the pbo file, it does all the steps you need, it takes some time, but so far it's the best tool I found for that job.

You can find it here:
