Stupid AI I can't get them to do as I say

OK I would post this on a board that has to do with general help but I could not find one. But during campaign play, I can't get the freakin AI to do what I say or when I want them to do it. There's a mission, about 5 missions into the game, where you have to attack an outpost and then attack the city... well to attack the outpost, I get out of my tank and spot. I tell everybody to not fire... and stay hidden. So they don't fire or stay hidden, i tell both tanks to switch to HEAT, and I spot all the enemies. Then I tell one tank to target a group of soldiers, and the other tank to target the other group. So hopefully in two shots the outpost would be defeated. I get back in the tank as the driver and the tanks fire one shot each. One always misses... and then one enemy group gets inside of a BMP2, and I tell both of the tanks to destroy the BMP2... and they won't freakin fire!!! I don't get it!?!? why don't they fire!?!?!?

I'm afraid we are a dedicated editing forum, and as such do not deal with gameplay issues. I suggest you try over at the Official Forums.

Just a small tip before I lock this thread:
When you assign your guys targets, wait for them to come back: "Ready to fire" before you clear them weapons free. If they don't, it means they're not in a good firing position.
