Picking Up Infantry Squad

Hello Everyone,

I am new to editing in OFP GOTY, but I am getting a pretty good grasp of how to create missions.  I am having a problem and I don't know if it is possible to do.  I am trying to setup a mission where I fly a Black Hawk to a location where an Infantry Squad is waiting to be picked up, I can't get the infantry to get in the black hawk.  I've done a search on the forum but didn't find anything that matched what I am trying to do.  Any help would be appreciated.

You can do it two ways, either with scripting or waypoint setup. Using waypoints you have to give the chopper a "load" waypoint near the pickup area and give the group a "get in" waypoint near the pickup area. Then you have to syncrinize the two waypoints so that the chopper will not leave until the entire group is on board. In the editors depot there should be some tutorials on using waypoints. I did some scripts that help choppers land quickly to load/unload units. When I get home (I am at work on lunch break now) I will shoot you over some demo missions that use both these scripts and the waypoint method.

Greetings messneremtb;

Insert a group of soldiers (F2) button.

Insert a chopper (UH-60)

Give the chopper a "load" waypoint.

Give the Group of soldiers a "GetIn" waypoint.

Hit F5 (syncronization) button, click on the load waypoint, drag it to the getin waypoint, then a blue line should go across to the wapoint.

You should be a player of the group, not the officer unless you know how to order your men to get in the chopper. you

Thanks to both of you, syncronization of the waypoints worked beautifully.  I don't know much about scripts yet, but with some research and help from this board, I can figure it out.

Here are those scripts I was telling you about. I am also re-submitting them to the rescourse testing forum (I submitted them a long time ago, but with all the updates to OFPEC since then, I think they were among the items that got lost in transfer). These scripts are pretty advanced, so if you need any help implementing them, just let me know using the personal message board and I will help you out.

Very nice scripting Raptorsaurus.  You can get a pickup and land anywhere you desire, and teleport anywhere, anytime.

I wonder if I would be able to review this script for you for OFPEC, if you wanted, well if I could anyways, got to ask first.   :)

Yes, please do. It is in the OFP editing scripting recourse beta testing board http://www.ofpec.com/forum/index.php?topic=28503.msg226554#msg226554. It has been there a long time and know one has tested it. The instant transport stuff is just so that you can quickly test chopper landing/picking up in multiple places. That would be pretty unrealistic for a normal mission, but for a science fiction mission it could be useful.
