I found this model on the web too, its 12,000 polys LOL! yeah its crazy..i thought of making it simple..but it was too much of a hassel. This is not a super hornet, its the old one, look at it.

It would be great if u can edit this model to suit the OFP engine and all our pc's..keep your highest limit to 5000 polys.

cheers.

If you really wanna see if it lags your comp Navy....put 4 of em in a mission with West and East troops fighting below and few helos in there supporting them.

Or how about on a runway with troops patrolling and vehicles moving round.

ie....in a real mission situation.

Even high poly count models (models over say 3000 polys in the first LOD) won't lag if you fly them around Desert Island.....but put them in a mission with a few other units fighting and watch the game slow down to a Matrix style kung fu scene.

Just remember...if you're gonna put all this effort into a model for the community, you'd be pretty pissed if they snubbed cause it made their game lag. No point building something no is gonna use right. So take my advice...try and get it below 3000 polys in the first LOD and you'll have a winner on your hands.

This might be a silly question, but how do you find out how many polys are in a model in o2?

Why the bloody F-in hell is the "Reset Form" button placed next to "Preview" and "Post". Arf!

I had a 10+ page reply written.
* KTottE curses the makers of YaBBC *

Oh well, we'll make do with the shorter version.

First:
Skaircro.
Select your model, bottom left corner, there's a point and face(polygon) count.

Second:
King Homer.
What's with the attitude?
There's no need to go off the way you did. Got any problems with anyone on the forum?
Write him/her a civil PM and explain how you feel.
If the problem remains, feel free to contact a moderator or a global mod with your problems.

Do not insult people, not in threads nor in PMs. It's not nice you know.

In my world, we live by the motto:

Treat others like you want to be treated yourself.

It's that simple, really.
Act a jerk, get treated like one.
Act a gentleman, get treated like one.

If you feel that this F/A-18 is immoral in anyway, please, feel free to not download it. I will do it, however, and pray that someone makes a decent Behind Enemy Lines mission.

So hurry up and get this done now, y'hear?

Please note that I have not issued any warnings or somesuch here, I'm just telling you all that if you play nice on my watch, I'll play even nicer.

Now all of you, git y'all asses back to work. I want to see an F/A-18 on my table ;D

King Homer.

If you ever have another outburst against a Member like that again, you will be banned from this Forum.

I am not forgiving as KtottE and never have been, and I, like the several people that Reported This Post, do not appreciate your attitude, towards what is essentially a well-meant, if mis-placed Post.

I suggest you rectify your attitude.

Man, don't take too long with that ;D cos you know, OFP is best suited for fighter bombers like the Hornet.
Ahh, I remember the days of the game FA/18 Hornet. Used to play it at primary schools in the morning.

can you prove you are the modeller? and if you are the modeller of it, you would know its a lot easier to make it again, to correct all the inside faces (what you call a bug, but being a modeller you would know this isnt a bug, wouldnt you?) it would make the poly count a lot worse, being such a good modeller it wouldnt be hard for you to make a lower poly version with it tailored towards ofp's needs and it would still look good, but thats assuming you really did make the F/A-18...
