hints about testing a mission
« on: 24 Oct 2002, 23:17:28 »
I like making mission, but what I don't like is the testing.
speciialy testing triggers  :'(

Is there a way to fasten this up?

I use time-acceleration, put my enemy in careless-mode, make a repeatable-radiocomand- savegame trigger

Any other suggestions ?? ::)

  Hmm... sounds like a fairly good method.. all I can add is that for all triggers and such I always have a "test area" on desert island where I check each part of the mission independently of the others.... then just cut/paste into the mission I'm working on ....

  Also... putting yourself as a captive can save you from having to change all those guys back from careless as well..

 Hmm.. obviously starting yourself at different points on the map can be a big help ...

anyways....  hope that helps..

copy your trigger and make it radio alpha. You will be able to set it off.. Just remember to delete it  ;D maybe put your guy as an enemy in a heli to see from above?..

yup..a good method is testing out each trigger combo/script first somewhere...if nothing else just create a whole "test situation" on the same map out of the way, and make sure it works...'s my method anyway. Can't enter nothing you can't be sure works ;)

Remember you can always copy-paste between missions, and it's damned easy to just change the names of the groups or whatever from the "test" ones to the "real" ones... ;)

G'luck mate! And remember to BETA test it before submitting yer mission ;) So happens we have the perfect forum for that....
