In game sound ID's
« on: 31 Jul 2006, 13:31:00 »
Hi

I know there is a way to get a unit to say sounds, but I dont want to use custom ones, I want to use the in game sounds.

Does anyone have (or know) a good list of the sounds and their ID's

This will help me a lot. Thanks ;)

Which sounds in particular?

There are so many of them it would be silly to list them all here.

There are a few different types:

Animals.............128
Environmental...14
Explosions.........16
Objects..............17
People................42
        Nepouzite...7
Ui........................11
Vehicles...............41
Voices.................166
Weapons.............72

TOTAL...................514

Ok, the list of the sounds from Voices is attached to this post.

There isn't really 166, but only 83 of them because I failed to take into account that half of them are .lip files.

I think you would really be better off just accessing these sounds from a trigger or waypoint dialog.

Place a trigger or waypoint on the map and when the dialog pops up press the Effects button.

All the sounds are then available from the next dialog.

Don't quote me on this (unless I'm right :D) but I seem to remember that you can also access the voices by simply placing

<unitname> Say "ENG##" / "RUS##"

So for instance aP Say "ENG13" will have him squirt out the 13th sound in the drop-down menu available from a waypoint/trigger's field.

:) Try it out for a spin. Might work with Playsound too.
