If you are trying to load a Coop mission to play, you must first select Multiplayer from the main menu, and then New from the multiplayer menu. That will start your PC as a non-dedicated server.

If you want to load the map to edit it you must first locate the file in your OFP MPmission folder and unpbo it. Unpbo is a tool you can d/l from the Editors Depot/Tools.  After unpbo move the resulting folder to your OFP users/yourusername/missions.  You will then be able to edit it inthe mission editor.

Go to Multiplayer....then press NEW.

Next you can choose the island.

Finally the mission you want to load into the multiplayer editor can be chosen.

The missions you can load into the editor will be in yellow text, the ones in green text are multiplayer missions in the MPMissions folder.

The yellow missions are the missions in the MPMissions folder that is in your user folder in Users.
The yellow missions are not in PBO format they are still in filder and file format.

So if the mission you want to put in the MP Editor is still a PBO, you will need to UN-PBO it first and put in in your:

Users\YourUserName\MPMissions folder.

EDIT: Mr Peanut got there first  ;P

okay first thank you for the fast response

second.... i assume that when i am done editing i obviously save it and then will it be turned back into a pbo automatically that can be used now?

hmm then again i found the pbo tool that will extract and compress so i assume that is how you do it then. if not just let me know.

again thank you

when saving, you'll notice several options, including 'save as multiplayer mission'. that will package the mission folder into a pbo in your multiplayer missions folder, ready to play. you could do it manually with the pbo tool i suppose, but it's a wee bit more hassle ;)

okay here is another problem

the mission that i am trying to load shuts OFP down and i get the following error

Users\Challenger\missions\G's Cooperative.Noe\description.ext.':'y' encountered instead of '='

does that mean its protected or something?

It means your description.ext has an error in it. This, unfortunately, causes OFP to crash. The error is somewhere near a letter y.
