« on: 13 Jul 2006, 12:50:41 »

We both have XP profesional OS, we both have ofpr 196, and we both have adsl 1mb connections with our firewalls down......we were trying to connect on port 2302.....cane anyone help....like for example....do play like this their were some optinos I didnt understand.....ports or direcplay?.......internet or Lan¿?.......when im hosting the game do i have to introduce my IP and port number 2302 or do I just leave it on lan and the other person has to introduce my IP.

Since you are aware of the fact that the question has nothing to do with editing, you are violating the rules intentionally. It's not a very nice thing to do. I'm not a moderator, merely a staff member at Ofpec, and I can not give you an official warning (although I think you deserve one). Nevertheless I must ask you to respect our rules. Ofpec is an editing site. Troubleshooting questions can be asked in the official forums. You find them here: www.flashpoint1985.com

Good luck with solving your problem

EDIT: I just noticed that you are new to this Forum. Sorry if my answer was a little harsh. But still, please respect that this is an editing site, not a trouble shooting site. Good luck again.

jings, and i thought i was a tough mod ;)

nommie is correct, we don't troubleshoot general game stuff, only specific editing stuff. head over to the bis forums as he suggested. and next time you have a multiplayer (editing) question, post it on the multiplayer boards, yes?

however, as far as i understand, at least one of the two computers has to be a server. lan to lan in the same room, no problem. not sure you can connect two normal pcs in a multiplayer game over the internet though.

anyways, hope you find an answer over at bis. and come on back if you start editing. we bark far more than we bite :)
