Mission Editing in Cold War Crisis
« on: 19 Oct 2002, 23:38:37 »
I am trying to get some tanks to move in on my command. The comand being Radio Alpha. How can i do this? Can someone tell me the code or something so i can do this please. Also how can i add more music options for triggers? I would like to be able to play some of the tunes i like rather than the ones that came with the game.

Please help me  ???

Welcome to the forums, BlackOP

I suggest you check out the Tutorials section of the Editor's Depot. If you still have questions, then turn to the Editing FAQ before posting on these forums ;) 9 times out of 10, you'll find your answer without having to wait for someone to reply.

In answer to your first question, you will need to give your tanks a "HOLD" waypoint (put it where you want them to wait) and have a trigger looking like this:

Radio Trigger

Radius: 0,0
Condition: Radio Alpha
Type: switch
Text: Call Reinforcements <-- put whatever you want to show up on the radio in here
Condition field: this
OnActivation Field: tank sidechat "Roger, moving into position"

Then you need to sync this trigger with your tank's "HOLD" waypoint. To do this, push F5 and drag a blue line from the trigger to the "HOLD" waypoint.
Now you just need to give your tanks some waypoints after their "HOLD" waypoint, and they'll wait for your Radio call before moving on to them.

For your second question, check the Tutorials section about sound and music. You'll find all your answers there.

Happy Editing ;)

As far as I know, I think that when you work with HOLD waypoints and triggers, the trigger's type should be Switch

dont even ave to use a hold waypoint - just do the same with  a move waypoint - and switch triggers are not needed - they are more for skipping waypoints.

oh, and make sure you are in advanced mode - otherwise you wont be able to do most of this.
