You need to de-pbo O.pbo and or Sound.pbo.  Find the sound of the weapon you want, for which you will need a wss to wav converter.  I believe you can use the original wss files in your sound folder, but I don't.  I convert the sound I want into an ogg file and use that in the sound folder.

Your reaction to the above could range from: 'okay I know how to do that', through to 'what language is this guy using?'

If it is the latter then post again and I or others will help explain the steps.

You might alos want to look at:

Thanks THobson,
this is a method I cannot use, the sounds should be existant and already available, as they would be used by a group of scripts that simulates rounds and missiles. I dont want to make them dependant on anything else than the script files.
