AI Plane landing
« on: 16 Dec 2005, 02:53:37 »
hey

is there a command you can put in on activation of a way point for an airplane to turn on landing autopilot/takeoff auto pilot? It would really be helpful for this mission I'm making, as its hard to make planes land and taxi and take off.

thanks a lot

plane action ["LANDING AUTOPILOT"] I think? :P

Plank knows, and he will be around shortly.  ;D

Check the tutorial in the Editor's Depot.

Well, I'm not Planck...but I think I know the answer! ;D

Tyger's method might work...not too sure.  I'm pretty sure all you need is a Get Out waypoint on the map.

Landing and taking off will only work on a working airfield, of which there is a maximum of one per island.    Aircraft will taxi south down the taxiway then take off towards the north.   They also land in a northwards direction.     You only need simple waypoints to control this.

Complex ground manoevres are nearly impossible on a working airfield because the aircraft are forever being "caught" by the runway or taxiway.
Plenty of reviewed ArmA missions for you to play

I've always used:

AI_plane land "LAND"

And it works for me
