Go to the FFUR/dta folder and delete HWTL folder.

a long way around it would be delete the dta.pbo from the ffur data folder and then that will get rid of it as well as the extras like the flags and so on but then just run the installer without the sky pack
actually that wasnt the long way around i changed my idea the long way would be un pbo the dta.pbo delete any sky related .paa and textures then re pbo it and save it then it should work either way should work

edit - what i did was install the sky pack seperate and run it using a mod folder a lot easier and when i want to remove it i just remove the linein the shortcut

okay, the closest thing I can find to DATA.PBO in any of my FFUR DTA folders is, dtaext.PBO

Should I delete this one?

No.
It just has the default BIS (CWC) weapon info .htmls and weapon/magazine pictures... Nothing to do with the sky pack...

I guess yer stuck with the sky, unless the FFUR author(s) can help you..

that sounds very weird are you sure you installed it in the ffur folders not a different mod folder or maybe you did it to the original dta file which came with the game ?

I think you maby right 456820 because even if I just have normal ofp resistance with no mods running it still does the sky pack.

is there anyway to fix it or do I have to reinstall-yet again- :-\

thanks

try deleleting the CWC data.pbo and res data.pbo
search in your cd's dor the data.pbos and replace them in the right folder, that should work if not a fresh reinstall will be required

OK I replaced CWC Data.PBO and RES Data.PBO with the ones from the CD but it still has the messed up sky pack on.

the reason I want to get it off is not because i dont like the sky but because it leaves a messed up dark blue haze where the horizon should be.

It looks very bad and I really want to be rid of it

see attached pick

is that even part of the sky pack?

thats not part of the sky pack i have a problem very simillar when i run DXDLL if you are try playing without it
that happens with DXDLL because your card cant take the pixelshader things and all that for the effects and instead gives you that

wheres my rabits sky pack the one i use is nothing like that

edit - looking at that pic again i think you will find that is indeed the original ofp sky so its not that sky pack i would take a guess and say its DXDLL but im not sure if your using it

[ofpec-offtopic :P]
It can also be a gcard driver issue...

At least with my old 7000-series Radeon some driver versions caused a similar problem and some didn't...

Ok, well that clears it up, its not the sky pack.

I dont use DXDLL and I dont even have it and
I recently switched to a Geforce 6600 PCI 256mb around the time the problem started.

before that I had a Geforce TI 200
Is there any way to get rid of it? maby by using a non BIS skypack

the problem started around

*when I got the VTE mod
*when I got the new graphics card
*when I got the FFUR desert, 2005, and Asian Crisis.
*when I replaced the BIS islands with the high resolution ones that were recomended for FFUR.

all those were things I did right around when the problem started.

but I dont think its the last one because even when I use Tonal, Ghostland, and Sinai, islands it still does the blue thing. Any ideas how to fix it.

thanks

right i dont know anything about the technical sides of computers apart from how to use it so  wont try and say anything about that bit

The FFUR packs shouldnt do anything since i have all of them and ive had nothing like that
The VTE mod ive owned and uninstalled not due to this problem just didnt really like it
I think the High Res packs suggested by FFUR totally suck cause of erros like AI driving really poorly and things like that but in the time i had them i never saw anything like that

try installng Wheres My Rabits sky pack as it is basically the Laumax one apart from a few extra textures which solve the sudden change in weather
if nothing here helps i would take a wild guess and say its your card but dont take it from me wait till someone a bit more technical has to say something about it

also im out of playing with FFUR and all of them for a while ive now only got the Gold Edition of OFP long story  ;D
So i will not be able to check anything for you just incase it is needed
