discussion on my tuto (spherical gizmo mapping)
« on: 06 Oct 2005, 21:52:13 »
ok, here's a new topic in order to follow the instruction not to use the comment system for discussion:

Hater_kint said that my tuto covers the same as the BAS one

Isn't this describing the exact same thing as this one?:

In more detail though..

Maybe smaller font size would help to make this tutorial not hurt my eyes... Hmmm.....

@ HateR_Kint: No no, read it carefully. the BAS tutorial covers cylindrical gizmo mapping, this one covers spherical gizmo mapping. the BAS guys explicitly say at the end of their tuto that they don't know what the other stuff is for. this tuto is one step to understanding the rest. ;) and any additions are very welcome. there are two types of gizmo mapping which are not covered by a tuto yet.

@baddo: smaller font size? how close do you sit behind your screen?  if there are more ppl complaining about it, then i'll change it. in the meantime please  adjust the font size in your browser settings ;)

//edit: sorry for wrong board , i just followed the instructions in the comment system. there, the ofpec comments board is linked

Well it looks better now with the new formatting. But at first, it was really horrible to read. Big font size and all text in one big paragraph can't be considered as text I would read if I don't really, really have to.

Just noticed that you have smaller font size in the tutorial that is inside the zip... if it wasn't clear I meant the tutorial which is visible on the resource window. If they should both be using same font size, they are not doing that. Don't know what causes that if it's not how you meant it to be.

Anyway, it's better now.

By the way, thank you for submitting a tutorial to OFPEC. That's exactly what we want you to do.

Oh, by the way, you could have included the cap model .p3d in the tutorial because now you force us poor testers and the poor tutorial readers to actually model the cap ourselves ;D ;D

yeah, i was thinking of adding a line at the end reading "contact me if you want to use any of the stuff mentioned in the tuto" or something, but in the end i decided to leave that out because i thought that 1. ppl wouldn't want to use the models/textures 2. if so, they wouldn't ask anyway if the files were attached.

for the same reason the tan cap texture is not in the original size, so if someone wants to use it he either has to use the downscaled and jpg'ed version or has to contact me for the original as long as it isn't released. after that it'll be stolen anyway... errr.. i mean used without asking  :P

ok, would that be helpful, attaching the model? anybody want to use it? or the texture?
...and when will the tuto be unpended?

Aww, this goes right in the same cathegory when asking "When will the Mod/AddOn be finished?" ::)

The tutorial needs to be tested first, even if you know it works...
It will be unpended at some point, don't worry.. :)
