Fictitious rifle
« on: 21 Aug 2005, 05:48:49 »
Someone wanna take a wack at making this rifle and it's varients?  I only have side shots cuz my artistic talents aren't up to the challenge of doing any other angle.  Its called the VS-17 Vanguard.  I don't care about any credit, I just wanna see it and, more importantly, shoot stuff with it.

There is the basic assult rifle version that comes with iron site, optical site, or bipod.  There is then the SMG version which is shortened and come with only an ironsite.

So, here it is...

P.S., the funny looking patter on the barrel area of the weapon is a heatshield that is similar in design to that on the M-16/C-7.

cool rifle,
it looks pretty realistic

but you might consider moving the magazine because it probably wouldnt be possible to transfer ammo from the magazine all the way up the stock into the chamber. maby you could make different mags, like a box for the MG version and a bottom fittting mag for the smg and the sniper.

I hope you get it made  :)

Okay, made many many more versions of it, I was bored.  I'm not entirly sure what you are refering to when you say move the magazine up, its a bullpup design.  For reference, look at pictures of Steyr's Aug and Britain's SA-80.  Yea, so anyone wanna make it?  I don't have the skills.

LOL! The British made a rifle with this design already in the 1940's, the
Enfield .280 calibre EM-2 (aka No.9 Mk.1). A truly excellent rifle tragically
cancelled for political reasons in the 1950s. I've seen one covered totally
in fine sand and still fire semi and full auto without a problem (try doing
that with an SA-80 - or an M-16   :P  )

I'm making an OFP one for my 1960-70s British Infantry pack   :)

It is entirely pertinent. I have a No.9 rifle in progress for my
1960/70s British Infantry. The No. 9 is identical in design to
your basic "vanguard" and has the added value that it is a
real life rifle, and an extremely good one. So someone is
definitely making a rifle to your (rather unoriginal) design.
The only other offer you've got so far is a "I might make
it". If you had asked, I might have added some of the silencers
and handgrips and other modern crap that you have in your
drawings to my model for you.

It's what happens when a M-16 has carnal relations with an SA-80.  Your weapon sounds very old, its like Kalashnikov old, and even the AK has been updated to the AK-103, I believe.
