Transparent pixels
« on: 23 Apr 2005, 14:38:02 »
I am displaying a picture with an irregular edge on the screen during gameplay, but as the file is a jpg that does not support transparency I get my picture in a rectangular box.

The alternative format is paa.  Before I embark on the journey of getting rar so that I can get paaTool, can anyone tell me - will this help?  I presume with Photshop I can create a tga file and then I believe paaTool will convert that to a paa file.  After all that will I then be able to display the picture with the game showing through the transparent bits?

Yes, that will work fine, the plans in my timebombscript have irregular edges and I use paa.
Save you're file in tga format, open it it in textview and save as paa
Search or search or search before you ask.

Thanks.  TextView - not paaTool?

EDIT:

TextView worked a treat.  Thanks.
