ECP with DynamicRange.pbo problems PLEASE HELP
« on: 12 Mar 2005, 16:06:26 »
I installed ecp and DynamicRange.pbo...and now i got BIG problems when Im playing the campaign. When ofp autosaves position and when i click on retry when i get killed ofp shuts down and window appears and it said something like this:
Users/Damage Inc/Saved/Campaigns/1985 (or resistance and red hammer)/continue.fps
No entry at /game state/variables/item3/data. value
If i delete all files in my saved/campaigns folder everything works well until ofp autosaves position again and then that window appears again (when i click retry). What is the problem. Is this ecp fault? Can i have dynamic range without ecp? Please help me i really love dynamic range sounds.
------
Thanks

This a a known OFP bug when save files get too big.

One way I have used to get around this problem is:

1.  Before loading OFP, find the mission .fps file and either move it elsewhere or make a copy elsewhere.  I usually take the weapons.cfg also.
These files can usually be found in:

OperationFlashpoint\Users\Username\Saved\missions\missionname folder

2.  Start OFP and start the mission from the beginning.  Get killed, then Alt-Tab back to windows and replace the files you copied back into place again.

3.  Go back to OFP and start again from your save position.

Having said all that..........this is for SP missions and I don't know if this sort of procedure will work for campaigns or if they use the same type of files to save your position.

Have a look and see and hopefully this will work as well for campaign saves too.

Its not really ecp's fault, but, ecp uses a lot of global variables and this tends to make the save game thing show up more .

At least thats the way I understand it.

I think so. Without ecp save file is 1.7 mb big now with ecp is 2.7 mb. Im downloading KyllikkiSoundPack now maybe i wont have troubles with this sound pack. This sound pack sounds wierd, so i hope the sounds wonÂ't be wierd too :) This pack is 38 mb big, IÂ'll report back when i install it.
If someone else wants to download it you can get it on

It's a known problem, and it is pretty much corrected in the new version of ECP, due out shortly.
