Realistic AI scripts
« on: 08 Jan 2005, 02:04:50 »
here are a few possible scripts that would much improve AI inteligence that i though of.

1. AI squads relay target info to a support gunship or plane for bombing and strafing runs; possibly using an invisible target addon which is pasted on an enemy unit specified by the AI officer.

2. AI trying to make better use of concelment, like a script that makes them more sneaky(for use at night w/ alot fo vegitation and stuff. having them run from bush to bush and stoping for a few seconds behind each bush so that it is not as easy for the player to spot them.

3. AI squads coordinate attacks with eachother and relay enemy info and support eachother for stuff like-1 squad suppresses while other charges, or one distaracts while the other flanks.

4. Ai squads will try to set up ambushes and stratigicly place MGs/snipers for there ambush.

some might be out there already but that is just a few i wanted to see in ofp.

(triggerhappy, im not intending this one for u, i dont want to over work u)

thanks

haha ....thats funny
I'm not gonna try to finish the STABO lift thing, it would be way better as a vehicle addon
It isn't going to work well as a script

Try the ed depot for AI intelligence scripts, snYpir's support pack, and all the other things you talked about.

Then there's the urban AI script in beta testing....

As for 4, I dunno how to do that easily. :P

Well I made a very simple number one in the ed depot.
 ;) (Gunship Support Script)
But I'm guessing you would want it to be all automatic. Like ECP, intergrated in there so you don't have to worry about it.

So I'm not sure if there's a version like yours but my script could be a substitute for now I suppose. :P

hmm i need it to work for AI though,

i just need a script that makes th officer select a target and then an invisible target addon is put there and the chopper told to fire on it.

if ur script has an AI officer assign targets to a gunship and then the gunship attacks them then il use urs.

does it do that?

there are a lot of "Ai intelligence" scripts out there that allow ai to relay info.
a little tweak and some bandaids should fix it up just perfect for what you want... ;D

well you already said i can't help.... ::)
anyway I'm sure someone else can make the script for you... although I tend to do scripts in a very...unorthodox....way :P

i would not ever  not want u to make a script for me.

um go ahead and give it a try if u want, i would be very happy if you would be so kind as to atempt to script another one of my reckless and poorly thought out script ideas

thanks :)

actually,  don't think any of the scripts I tried to do for you would work... so I don't think I've actually made any scripts for you...

but heres my idea(so someone can put it together for ya)
look in the intelligence scripts to find out how they relay the info, then use that to tell one unit (or an array of units) to relay info to another unit (the plane)
actually not very hard
