M47 Super Dragon Launcher
« on: 30 Dec 2004, 11:37:37 »
There is an M47 Dragon Launcher already made but this one doesnt have a system by wich you can lock the target and fire then watch the missile flying to the to bad monster and explode.

The charge on the missile should be powerful enough to vaporise a T90 with reactive armor. Maybe a 140mm or 152 HEAT shell or equal?

I'm not used to Military terms but i think that this tracking system is called Line-of-Sight.

For night mission an Infrared version would be good.

It have an 127mm High Explosive Anti-tank (Heat) warhead

The missile would fired and fly a direct  flight , if its find its target it leave the straight flight and take course on the target and destroy it if possible. The grund why it destroy a tank is that the missile is coming from the top where the tank isn't  good armored.
thats what means "Line of Sight"

Then it should be kinda same to the Javelin launcher but adding something that make sure that the AT soldier keep the crossair on the enemy armored during the time that the missile travel to the target.

Is this can be applied to the Eryx too?

@oyman

i already have a dragon launcher addon but i think it need some improvements.

@US-marine

Standard ammunitons for M47 Dragon Launcher are 127mm, i know that. But i have been reading that the US Marine Corps use 140mm with the Dragon Launcher.

I Just think it would be very nice in ofp. By the same time it can expand the radius of the explosion and creates more damage.

Also without tracking system it can be used for breeching and getting rid of bunkers and shelters.
