Measurements in OFP
« on: 22 Dec 2004, 14:49:48 »
I've been working on a few scripts and whatnot, but there are a few things I've been missing.  First off, is the rate of gravity.  Is it still 9.8m/s^2?  I know the game measures in meters, just with my past experiences it isn't 9.8.

Also, is there any sort of air resistance implimented in the game?

well, yeah, it is 9.8 m/s as far as I know, but only to a point.
There's a "SideAirFriction" setting that appears to be applied linearly.  You're better off avoiding it.
In general, for short lobs 9.8 m/s (or d = 4.9*t^2) is good enough. For longer stuff, I recommend voodoo.

Alright Dinger, thanks mate.  I take it you used this to do calculations for CoC?
