sidechat query
« on: 19 Dec 2004, 13:33:09 »
mkay first of all, i know how to make it appear, that's no problem.

scenario. i have about 5 groups of two loons each. is there a way to assign all of those five separate groups to a single sidechat 'group' i.e. bravo?

further, is it possible to define the colour of the sidechat text for any given group? i've seen something about this in the comref, i'm pretty sure of it, but scrolling through it now i can't seem to spot it.

thanks meantime

As faras I know sidechat, globalcat etc. each have their own colour that cannot be changed.

I imagine any changes to this may be possible, but, it would probably involve editing the resource.bin.

Is this what you mean?

group setGroupId id

Operand types:
group: Object or Group
id: Array
Type of returned value:
Nothing
Description:
Set group identity. Id format is [letter, color, picture] or [letter, color]. Letter is one of: "Alpha", "Bravo", "Charlie", "Delta", "Echo", "Foxtrot", "Golf", "Hotel", "Kilo", color is one of "GroupColor0" to "GroupColor7".

Example:
setGroupId ["Alpha", "GroupColor0"]

0 - no colour
1 - Black
2 - Red
3 - Green
4 - Blue
5 - Yellow
6 - Orange
7 - Pink

In the comref i found this stuff.hope that helps

yes and no. yes, that's the syntax i was looking for (thanks); but no it doesn't look like i can assign the same name or colour to separate groups. ho hum.
