Fixing signs
« on: 12 Nov 2004, 08:07:17 »
This has got the feel of an 'old chestnut', so if it is so well known that you groan - I apologise, I am new to this.  Also I am pretty sure the answer to my question is no.

I want to correct a road sign on Malden.  When heading north from La Trinite the sign indicates you are leaving La Riviere.  I have discovered this after building a significant amount of my mission in and around La Trinite.

I could kill the sign.  I prefer to change it.  Can I?

You can allways destroy it and then replace it, but you can't change it, unless you make a new island.

A new island would be a hefty addon to download for your mission if only the sign is screwed up. Isn't Malden a big island?

Just use gen barrons ed addon, kill the sign and put a rock on it. Solves almost all my problems not exclusive to ofp. :D :D :P

I never knew that sign was screwed up. Maybe use my idea and replace sign like Armsty said, u will ALWAYS be armsty to me, not dmaktra...., and then you will have a non wrong sign mission. But would the player notice? Or is it in the intro or outro?  :P

Ahhhhhhhhh yes, I remember finding that a while ago.

And I replaced the offending sign with the correct one.

But of course, I was using another copy of Abel.wrp (Malden)

I have this copy that I use to play about with things on.......a sort of test-bed island.

I corrected that sign and have done lots of stuff to this island. The airport even has a full set of runway lights on this copy, plus all the towns and villages have streetlights........less bright streetlights, ones that don't light up the whole island.  Anyway.....I digress .....

Unfortunately THobson, the only way you can permanently fix this is to load it into a wrp editing program and replace it from there.
