Transparent Textures?
« on: 17 Oct 2004, 18:14:54 »
What are transparent textures. Are they actually transparent?

What can they be used for? Can they make objects appear "invisible"?

Also, does making transparent textures have anythin to do with the Alpha channel you can put in a TGA file?

yeah, to make a trsnparent TGA file, you have a alpha chanel covering the whole image..
Yeah, it will make the object apper invisble, and, yes, you can use setobjecttexture on them ;)
Heheh
Anyone know where that tutorial on setobjecttexture and hidden selections is?

Cool. I use Adobe Photoshop which has a TGA file option. But I dunno if there is an alpha channel or not.

I found those tutorials on Google ;)

Here are the links. There isn't a link from the main news page (wierd :-\)

The SetObjectTexture tut:-
