question about mod compatibility
« on: 18 Sep 2004, 23:30:47 »
I've recently installed FDF and it's got me wondering... if I have FDF installed and run resistance, and make missions in resistance, will they require FDF to be installed for them to run? Or does running operationflashpointresistance.exe exclude the addons from the FDF mod?

I would suggest you check the official FDF thread at http://www.flashpoint1985.com/cgi-bin/ikonboard311/ikonboard.cgi

Unlike ECP, it may very well be that a mission made while running FDF may require FDF, it all depends on what vehicles, units you use and whether or not they are FDF units or require particular FDF scripts.

Example--say you were to make a mission that required a BOP to attach a satchel to a vehicle--well, were you to run this mission without FDF you wouldnt be able to attach the satchel charge to anything.

If you have further FDF questions I would ask the guys themselves, they are pretty helpful.

Hope this helps.

If you aren't running FDF when you make a mission, then you won't need it to run the mission. If you are running FDF when you make a mission, then you'll need to be running FDF to play the mission.

Sorta right I guess..
If you only place normal BIS units (For example), and don't need anything like the attach satchel etc
You can run the FDF and still use the normal OFP to play it..
But if you place a FDF unit, then yeah, you need to run the FDF ;)
