hi and thanks in advance.
I want to get rid of the 2 modern day crew men I find serving a pak4o world war 2 german anti tank gun. How do i get regular german infantry to replace the autmatically generated crewmen. ie, specific instructions to use script to remove them then replace with ww2 men[ie, what would the gun's positioning be termed as? driver and commander for example? Also can I do this permanently via the gun's config file-ie, adding/exchanging unit class names for crew? Thanks-loaded question, but maybe easier than it reads, :-\

well seeeing as how 26 people read the topic before me and waSN'T ABLE TO ANSWER and i am, i probably read it wrong or something, so ofrgive me. but just incase here is what i think.

Put a EMPTY pak40 arttilery gun somewhere around the map and name it something. I'll call it AGUN1.

Put 2 german oinfantry soldiers on the map and name them also. i'll name them Dieter and Adolf.

on the init field of dieter put:
Dieter moveingunner GUN1

and on the init field of Adolf put:
Adolf moveincommander Gun1
if the commander doesn't work try moveindriver or moveincargo.

Movein moves instantly moves a unit inside a vehicle so the two nazis will be conrolling the cannnon when the mission begins. i hope this helps.

thanks for your reply...i'll try it soon and let you know the result... ps. dieter and adolf are quaint, but mebbe I'll go with franz and hans  ::)

26 looks and no reply is a little higher than average, but not unusual.    And, given the comprehensive correctness of the one reply that there has been, frankly there's nothing to add.  ;)
Plenty of reviewed ArmA missions for you to play

almost.....
no dice- :-\ those modern day US desert artillery crews are still manning the pak40... please note there is no empty playable version of the gun to add crew to... only this playable version that's already crewed... further input is greatly appreciated... since I can switch the contemporary driver auto put in AI manned higgins landing craft driver too from modern to a ww2 driver. :o.
So basically i need to know how to kill AI auto generated crews of vehicles/gun posts, at game start in favour with my own choices

Place the gun.   Name it, lets say, dieYouFuckingBastards.

In the init field of the gun write

deleteVehicle dieYouFuckingBastardsD; deleteVehicle dieYouFuckingBastardsG

Thereafter follow ryankaplan's most excellent advice.  (You might need a C rather than the D and/or G.)
