using sqs scripts are the ONLY way to make a cool stuff. Well I think so anyway. Grab the Official Command Reference as well. Everything u need is in the Editors Depot.
Actually, you can make a great mission using only a minimum amount of scripting.
However, scripts do let you do some cool stuff. You don't even have to learn how to write your own scripts: only how to use them. Then check out the editor's depot, where there are hundreds of pre-written scripts for you to use. Find one you like, pop it in your mission and activate it and you're golden. Of course, later on you'll likely want to start try writing your own basic scripts, after having looked at other people's work. That is when you start learning how to do it yourself.
