New "Test" Scope (Update)
« on: 06 Aug 2004, 02:37:38 »
Hei!
I working on some new Scope. :)
This Scope is made for 10x-55x Zoom.
I made a enemy distance tabell on the right side of the Scope, It's tell you the distance to the enemy from 400m to 1200 m when the enemy stay. I gona make the rest soon. I add some pictue, take a look :)

Pic 1: 400m

Pic 2: 1200m

What you think?? he he
Well, its not finish yet, but i'am going to make a default scope for M24 and SVD later.

I like the idea.. but I think you should leave the text portions out and just make solid black bars instead, you can explain in the read-me what each mark stands for.

That would seem more realistic to me based on the scopes I've seen

otherwise lookin good..

wanna make an optic for a machine pistol for me? lol ;D

Hei
Thanks if you like the idea.
Well, yeah, you got the point there, so i'am going to make two version of this scope, one without the text and one with the text. :)
Well, i hope this idea work when iam finish  ::)
Thanks again :)

Hei
I'am back!
I was just making a scope for a standard M24 SWS with 10xZoom and 950 m/s in initspeed.
Hope you all like it?
Some pic her:

Full view:

The right side is from 400m-1000m++
And the left side is from 300m down to 100m

And how it's work: The enemy are 1000m away

Hope you all like it :)

Thx man :)
But i know its lot of lines, but its work if you don't know the distance to the enemy. Its just follow the line and hit fire, he he

An interesting idea. It must have taken a lot of effort to get the image
scaled so that it corresponded to range. But of course that is not
the way rifle scopes work in RL. I wish someone would make a scope
for OFP where the mil dots on the cross hairs are sized properly
so they could be used to estimate range (as they are in RL). Then
"sniping" in OFP would be more realistic and more of a challenge.
It kind of sucks just now with most of the addon rifles. The only
ones which are good are some of the addon SVDs and the scope
on the good old original BIS M21 (which works a bit like the real
life ART I telescopic sight on the M21). Sniping in OFP is far too
easy since the game engine doesn't model any of the factors
that affect bullet trajectory (there's not even any wind for Pete's
sake!).

I think there is wind in OFP, think of flags, but, I don't think it affects bullets at all.

I know a little about a lot, and a lot about a little.

Yes, I am talking about its effect on bullet trajectory. There
isn't any.

Also, I haven't seen ALL the addon rifles, so I shouldn't have made
that blanket pronouncement that "the only good ones are..."

The guy's work on this fantasy rifle scope is pretty impressive
though. If he could do this then he could surely make a
realistic mil dot reticule...hint ...hint  ;)
