Enemy Spotted, Get....Keep going??
« on: 24 Jul 2004, 00:43:08 »
Quick problem that i believe can only be utilized by a script.
What I want to do is make a vehicle move from Point A to Point B. Now what I want to happen is if an enemy unit comes into visual contact with the said vehicle, I want the troops inside the vehicle to get out and engage. then when the enemy is destroyed, reenter the vehicle and continue to Point B.

I know this can be completed with using a series of waypoints and switch triggers. But, I want it to happen seamlessly. Rather than a predetermined unit, I want any enemy contact to be engaged, rather than just passed by to get to Point B.

You can still do it with triggers and waypoints.    In fact the  whole getout and engage sequence has to be kicked off by an "east detected by west" (or whatever you want) trigger.    The trigger area covers the vehicle's route and can either start a script or switch the group into an appropriate waypoint.    If the waypoint was seek and destroy you could move it onto whichever group fired the trigger.    If it's complicated you could use a sequence of triggers.

Plenty of reviewed ArmA missions for you to play
