Need help with building placement
« on: 18 Jul 2004, 07:00:15 »
I have both editor addons and I made a map that has some buildings that are placed too high for anyone to walk into, they end up walking through the building and getting stuck in the concrete. Can someone tell me how I can get this corrected?

I'd probably be better to ask in the Editing: General board, as this is not the correct place to post this...

use the setpos and getpos commands

i.e. put this in the init line of the object you want to move up/down:

this setpos [(getpos this select 0), (getpos this select 1), -1]

You can just change the last number to where it makes the buildings seem realistic.

This about placement of buildings on a new island that you are creating, right?      In that case setpos may not be the best solution.

If you are placing buildings on an existing island then setpos is the right way to go.
Plenty of reviewed ArmA missions for you to play

And to the Admins out there, no offence but with all due respect, you guys need to lighten up out there,I read other forums posted by people who just want help and you guys go and bust balls becuase they stick topics in the wrong place?    Before I posted this I looked all over the forum catagories and found this spot.Sorry.

" # Moved to Editing/Scripting: General"
You think that's "busting your balls"?! ::)

As you can see, we simply move the post and/or make a post stating the correct & new location for it.
If you feel that's being too cruel and harsh, I suggest you might want to consider leaving, as thats about as polite as we can get without getting all gushy and having to buy people puppies & kittens.

Posting something uncalled for (and overstated) like this only ends up doing your reputation more harm than good.

^^ That's "busting balls", Chammy.
