Joining Soldiers To unit1
« on: 18 Jul 2004, 01:21:59 »
ok what i want is a simple way to make a soldier join unit1 now i have tred the following...

[unit2] join unit1
[unit3] join unit1
[unit4] join unit1
[unit5] join unit1
[unit6] join unit1
[unit7] join unit1
[unit8] join unit1

and also tryed

[unit2, unit3, unit4, unit5, unit6, unit7, unit8] join unit1

they work but say theres two players (MP) it will say:

' follow one
' follow one

and will say that for each soldier, it dose not say "Two Follow One" and so on just "'Follow One"
thats using:

[unit2, unit3, unit4, unit5, unit6, unit7, unit8] join unit1

if i do it the other way it says that line about 15 times before it stops

so is there anyother way to do this?

cheers, Philly

Hmmm...I don't know MP weirdness, and I don't think there's another way. It's just OFP's "way" to have the "unitname A join group" etc.

I used a script to eject a squad from a landed chopper, and at first, every guy popped out after each other like popcorn, with a "bang/thud" mechanical noise. But when I put in a 1 or 2 sec pause between:

eject delta1
~1.5
eject delta2
~1.5

they popped out smooth and silent, in a more realistic way. maybe a pause would help...?

I'm not clear what the problem is.    If its the saying of "follow one" 15 times that's a bug that sometimes occurs and I'm not sure what, if anything, you can do about it.

Do unit2 etc join unit1's group correctly?

the synthax for joining a named persons group is:

[unitname] join group unitname

so for your script, it can be:

[unit2, unit3, unit4, unit5, unit6, unit7, unit8] join group unit1
