config.cpp Threat= question
« on: 21 Sep 2002, 06:20:32 »
Two questions, both related:  ???

1. Do soldiers fall into the category of VSOFT or VARMOR? I know is the AI sees a far away soldier it will sometimes radio "Unknown Vehicle 1000 Meters".

2. Can the values for the Threat command exceed 1.0, or is it a decimal scale between 1 and 0? Where as 0 is no priority, and 1 means kill it first?

All help is vastly appreciated!!!  8)

Thanks

1) VSOFT

2) its between 1 and 0, maybe you can write 2, but I dont really know if it has any effect... I never tried it. "1-0" always worked for me.

I was tweaking config.cpp for the JMGBarretM82 addon, because I noticed two issues: the AI would only engage at 100 meters, so I tweaked range to 1500 meters, and the AI would try to kill tanks. I tried this line:

threat[]={1,0,0.1};

And that seemed to work. The AI still tries to attack tanks on occassional, but it seems to leave them alone 50% of the time, however it will still go after BMPs religeously.

Som the next question is: do BMP and M113 fall into VSOFT or VARMOR?

I'd think they'd be VARMOR because from a distance they say 8 o'clock Tank 1000
