Make an actor sit

Very basic question, but it's been a while since I opened up OPF.

How do I make an actor sit?  Can't remember the command.  Looked into setbehaviour, but it still eludes me.

Sit on the ground : put in the player's init field : this setBehaviour "safe";this switchMove "effectstandsitdown"

(I suggest "effectstandsitdownStill" for civilians).

Sit on a chair (use only the object "chairX") : put in a trigger : Nameoftheunit switchMove "OnChair"

Introduction

This list was compiled from all the resources at OFPEC.  It includes all

the animations from the Unofficial Command Reference Guide and the new

Resistance moves.  None of it is my work, I have simply collated what

was already here.    If you find any mistakes, or if you know of any

more animations, please post a Comment below.

If you have OFP v1.46 or lower use the list in the Unofficial Command

Reference Guide Appendix E.

Syntax

unitName playMove "animation"
unitName switchMove "animation"

For example,

loon1 switchMove "EffectStandSalute"

Switchmove results in an immediate transformation to the new position.  

Playmove is more gradual.  

Your unit may need to be in a certain state before it can do the

switchmove/playmove.  For example, a unit will only salute if it already

has its weapon on its back.  Also, some animations only respond to

either playmove or switchmove, not both.  You may need to experiment a

little to get what you want.


Common animations

To stop a playMove/switchMove  -  Null

Salute  -  EffectStandSalute

Stand still  -  Effectstandstill

Sit on a chair  -  OnChair

Sit on the ground  -  Effectstandsitdown

Hands behind head  -  FXStandSurUniv or FXStandSurDown or FXStandSur

Press ups  -  FXStandToDip

Check the FAQ for examples of how to combine animations into attractive

sequences.  For example there is advice on answering the telephone and a

surrender.

To AUS_Viper : don't use FXBase and FXBase0 (crash and back to Windowns  :().

another way to make a unit sit down:

Give your unit a name (eg : bob)
Give him a MOVE waypoint, SAFE behaviour

in the onactivation filed of that waypoint put :

bob action ["sitdown"]
:)
It works, try it
