ARRRGH!
I'm still having trouble getting a copter to respon to a radio summons
. here is the situation:
The player character needs to destroy a jeep and then summon a copter for pickup. I have two triggers I am attempting to get to work:
1: a trigger that encompasses the entire level (1000000 in the a and b axis fields)
Activation is set to none.
'None' in the 'type' field with nothing in the name field (does this matter? does it need a name?)
In the the condition, it is NOT ALIVE OBJEEP (OBJEEP being the jeep to destroy). This part seems to be okay.
In the 'activation': "1" set objstatus "DONE"; "1" setradiomsg "Call For Pickup" (exact words in my editor field)
2: a trigger which has no area of effect (0 in a and b axis fields)
activation set to 'none'.
Radio Alpha in the type field, again with nothing in the name field.
no activation or condition scripts.
The jeep is simply near the first trigger (not that it matters since that trigger covers the whole level) When destroyed, the first objective is not marked 'done'. Also, althought the radio can be seen, no command appears when the jeep dies. (I've tried this many ways and even when I get the command to work, the chopper won't respond)
The helicopter is set to two waypoints: the first is a 'hold' way point, the second a move waypoint. The second trigger (see above) is syncronised to the hold waypoint (On top of the chopper)

but this is really getting on my t*ts.
macguba's suggested mission was the tutorial mission which is the one I am cannibalising for my current mission. I tried to copy the helicopter part (I actually cut & pasted the triggers and changed them just enough to cover my mission) but so far i either get what i have now i.e objective doesn't change and no command appears, or the command appears but the chopper won't move to the next waypoint.
eek. I must have lost you in that. Please help, if you understand this tosh. :'(
