smoke particles effects
« on: 24 May 2004, 14:17:05 »
i'd like to know how to camcreate smoke particles, like the ones that are the dust behind tanks, cuz i think it looks way better when you get dust thrown around when smthing blows up instead of grey smoke...

And also, is there a way of making an area that is foggy and an area is that is not? I know that the fogs work with the view distance thing (thats how it works right?) but it would be cool to see a foggy area from the top of a hill that is not in fog...
any ideas?

thx in advance

1. Check out Vektorbosons Drop [] tute in ed depot.
2. Ouch. Addon or the drop command. Both wouldn't look very nice though. Another idea is to lower the fog a bit when you reach the hill.

I don't think viewdistance and fog are quite the same, though obviously the effect is similar.    You could certainly create a discrete fog bank using the drop command, but something that size would eat a lot of cpu time.
