modifying PAC (getting white image)
« on: 12 Apr 2004, 18:44:05 »
Sounds kinda cryptic. But what I'm trying to say is I've been modifying some forest textures to make them more verdent. The problem I ran into is when I'm trying to bring them back into the game the modified textures lose there transparent background and a white background is shown (makes for a pretty freaky looking forest). Now I know that when you jpeg an image the transparent background is turned into a white background, this is creating the problem.

I tried to save the new image "Jasc paint shop pro 8" as a tga file (compressed and uncompressed 24bit)  to keep the alpha channel but I'm not able to view it in textview.

Do I need to use different software, any suggestions?

thanks

Try saving it as a 32 bit .TGA, that should work.

THanks for the input. the program I'm using doesn't have 32bit tga so I'll grab the other ones and the paatool.
