Simple, well it should be

So my small problems are this for my upcoming mission:

1.) My little oh58 flies near enemy territory to get to the friendly base, well lands near it anyway. This Shilka from far away makes for a nice hot landing but lately the chopper gets blown out of the sky. The problem is that you are the special cargo being transported! I've tried using "this flyinheight 25" but it NEVER works and says error unknown something......       Need help so my oh58 lands quicker and safer.  
I've also tried setting shilka skill to zero and that didn't work. My shilka has to stay somewhat skillful since if the player calls in air attack too soon, they have to get shot down since the obj is to destroy the shilkas then the russian boats(big boats).

One last observation is the helicopter when landin on the pad, it hovers next to it for toooo long. There is an invisible H there.


2.) this knowsabout player
This line has the same trouble as flyinheight with almost the same error message. I need this line for my poor supporting troops since they are walking through a swamp covered in snipers, masked MGs, and roving patrols/APCs.

How exactly are you using those flyInHeight and knowsAbout functions?

The chopperName flyInHeight height needs to happen between two waypoints, or it won't work at all. At least not in the units init (afaik...)

The unit knowsAbout other needs to 'return' something, so for example if used in triggers condition it should read something like:
nme1 knowsAbout player > 0

1.   Move the shilka or the landing site so that there is no line of sight between the two.    If a chopper tries to land at a place covered by a shilka it deserves to get shot down.  Additional waypoints for the chopper, to bring it in from another angel, might help.

2.  Maybe you need a reveal command, not knowsabout.

Ohhh okay thanks, that makes sense. In the waypoint act field I put     chopper setflyinheight 25.    So for knowsabout I put like west activated by and then in activation field put     shilka1 knowsAbout jim > 0
Okay I kinda understand that well enough.

As for the heli landing, its part of my Operation Ghost mission on Sarugo island in the Southern swamps. The fog is really thick so I was hoping the AA fire would miss but scare the player riding shotgun in the OH58 a little and make it seem like its a good idea to get rid of shilkas so close to base. The swamps and fog almost give you a nam feeling. But I think I'll leave it with an autosave before you land to ensure that you can just land again if your shot down. In real life that would happen, your not safe all the time.

Thanks for replying and I'm gonna release that mission soon when its finished since I have like three others being worked on athe same time.

you could always make the oh58 an enemy and make it so that it has no ammo...
