BAS Blackhawks and warning sounds
« on: 01 Mar 2004, 12:46:50 »
I'm not terribly sure if this is not wirtten somewhere,
but then I've looked in all Readmes avaiable to me, and so far
have come up dry.

My problem is that whenever a Missile is fired at a MH-60K (or another
of the BAS Blackhawks) an alarm goes off, and flares are fired.
So far so good. Looks amazing and cool...just...just when my
rebels with their RPGs (unguided I gather, since they never hit) are
fireing at the Chopper, the alarm goes off too. Now how can someone
detect (automatically) if they are shot at with a warhead which does not
target the thing? No quite real right?...
anyhow how can I turn the warnings off? Is there a way?

Missions just don't feel as dangerous when your chopper is invincible :-[ .

Machineguns and non-locked rockets will still tear them up good ;) Especially since almost all AI machinegunners now fire at them...

I'm not sure anybody really answered fishion's question fully (correct me if I'm wrong.) but I can't answer it I'm afraid.

BAS could confirm, but what I suspect is this:

The script doesn't discriminate between OFP missiles, it simply detects the object as a missile and and triggers the alarm, whether guided or unguided.

i don't think it is invincible, i got a superb mission that is very heavy but i have been shootdown a couple of times both by soldiers on the ground and by bmp 2 and by AA soldiers  :-[ but thats cool 1 AA you can get away alive but if you fly close to 4 AA soldiers and they fire their rockets you're 99% chance of being shot down and dead too  ;D

so i don't want to hear anything about chopper being invincible  ;D
if you guys want to check the mission out here's a link

http://www.ofpec.com/yabbse/index.php?board=23;action=display;threadid=15342   you can post comments if you like, and download links can be found on the bottom somewhere. readme included in the zip with addon links  ;D

maybe considering to make a version with the new bas blackhawk but there's only a minigun version but its cool too and the extraction chopper that 2 of the soar pilots drive is a minigun version but for the moment its the black uh-60, i love the chopper its really exciting when you hover over the ruins and the ground team rushes for the rope ladder while the enemy a.i fire everything on your chopper and all around you.

I do also suspect that Noon, that's why I asked how to turn it off. This would get rid of my problem since there are not guided missiles.

I got 6 Enemy MGunners (Foot Soldiers) and you get killed quite often. Not because the Chopper crashes, they are no real threat to the chopper, but more often because the they hit the pilot or the gunner (me).
Any the person itself is not invincible.

Has nobody an Idea how to turn it off?
