Briefings

Hi all,  
I've just started making my own missions and am experimenting with scripting etc.  I followed the tutorial on making briefings appear in single missions, but all I'm getting is the usual gear and group info.  If any one could help cos I been trying for hours to get the briefing working.

the custom gear is defined in the description.ext file, look in the editors depot for tutorials on the description.ext file.

You can wait for me to release the next version of my executable command reference that will come with a description.ext wizard.

Get the Tutorial Mission from the Ed Depot:  it has a working briefing for you to use as a template.   Drop it into your mission folder and make it work, then copy and paste stuff from your own into it.    There are other files for you to use as templates too.

Just to add one more info to Macca's suggestion:

There's one thing, everybody owns with his OFP:

it's called: "WIZARD"

If you create a mission by using your wizard, you will also
get a working briefing, which you can simply copy/paste
and do some experiments with that then.

I always wonder, why i've never seen many ppl talking about
this piece, as i could learn a lot of things in the editor from
that wizard aswell.

Thanks for the replies guys, (hey that rhymes).  What was happening is my notes and plan weren't appearing on the briefing screen (yes i know I'm a noob at this lol),  anyhoo, I still don't know why they weren't appearing, but a quick download of Chris's script wizard solved it thanks for answering (you'd be surprised how many forums dont bother)  cheers. :cheers:

Another thing you can do is to find a mission with a complicated, multi page briefing.  Depbo it and learn how they did it.
