painless bombs

bomb1 = "grenade" camcreate [0,0,0]; bomb1 setPos (getpos gl1)
ok.... this line works fine at sea level.... but i have a man placed ona  rock at 77m above sealevel (ruins near kovos on Tonal).... the grenade explodes, but does not kill the guy... just noise, sound, explosion but no death...

at sea level it works fine.... but whatever i put in the [0,0,0] it won't work... any1 have a clue?

I've seen that on other islands (Ia Drang).

My solution was to set it about 1 meters off the ground and then setvelocity [0,0,-10] or so.  That way it hits the ground like a thrown grenade but is fast enough that most people shouldn't see it.

Should work perfectly.  Its possible that when the grenade spawns at ground level, because the man is standing on the rock he is shielded from the blast.  This effect is most evident when you span a laser guided bomb 1 metre under the ground, you can stand right on the blast, and it makes all the normal effects but without the killing.

As I said, spawning the grenade at the exact position of the man (not the ground where the man is) should kill him without problem.  If not, then adding +1 to the vertical axis should fix things.

or you could just create a dop explosion and play an explosion sound....
