Firing Range
« on: 14 Jan 2004, 21:05:33 »
I am trying to make soldiers fire at targets on a firing range using the DAA M16.  :gunman:                 I am using the target that came with the game (/empty/objects/Target E). I have tried destroy waypoints, and I have tried triggers telling the soldiers to dotarget and dofire. Nothing works!! >:( ???

  :help:  Please help!  :help:

Unless you put something east behind teh targets, out of sight, perhaps in a bush, you cant.

I believe someone made an addon target that you could properly target.

The dotarget commands have never worked in the past (which is why someone made an addon), but you can try.

they just fire their M16's in the air, never at the target with that command... been there, done that, seen the consequences  ::)

Im 99% certain that its all been tried before.  The official campaign doesnt have a working firing range, the only way so far people have gotten it to work is to target an enemy unit out of frame, or use the addon which lets the AI target the target properly.

Thanks for the suggestions, guys.
I tried the dotarget then fire m16 and they fire up in the air. :noo: This happens with everything, unless the target is an enemy.

Which leaves the option of the addon. Where can I get it?

d/l the invisible targets pack by ADF and put them in front of the targets at a setPosed height of about 0.5m and make a script so they are deleted when the target is destroyed. Simple and effective

I'm no bright helper but, wouldn't it be possible to set the target as "enemy"?? If yes, how?

BTW, I've found a link to other targets, (called "Animated Targets") I doubt it will work but You can always check it out! :)
